The "Symbol = Reality" Myth Print

Why should we have laws that protect ducks more than human beings?

The Eagle

One of the greatest mistakes socialists make is the confusion of symbol with reality. This is the logical fallacy of misplaced concretion--the fallacy of attributing existence to an idea. A symbol is an abstract term.

For instance, the bald eagle is the national symbol. The eagle has been declared to be a sacred American bird-god to be worshiped by the people. Even the eagle egg, whether or not it is fertilized, is protected by law! Keep in mind that the eagle is a symbol of the United States, that is, it represents United States citizens. Here is a reference to that law:

The bald eagle will continue to be protected by the Bald and Golden Eagle Protection Act even though it has been delisted under the Endangered Species Act. This law, originally passed in 1940, provides for the protection of the bald eagle and the golden eagle (as amended in 1962) by prohibiting the take, possession, sale, purchase, barter, offer to sell, purchase or barter, transport, export or import, of any bald or golden eagle, alive or dead, including any part, nest, or egg, unless allowed by permit  (16 U.S.C. 668(a); 50 CFR 22). "Take" includes pursue, shoot, shoot at, poison, wound, kill, capture, trap, collect, molest or disturb (16 U.S.C. 668c; 50 CFR 22.3). The 1972 amendments increased civil penalties for violating provisions of the Act to a maximum fine of $5,000 or one-year imprisonment with $10,000 or not more than two years in prison for a second conviction. Felony convictions carry a maximum fine of $250,000 or two years of imprisonment. The fine doubles for an organization. Rewards are provided for information leading to arrest and conviction for violation of the Act. http://www.fws.gov/midwest/eagle/protect/index.html

But certain American people are not protected by law. Fertilized human eggs are not protected by law. In fact, human beings are not protected until they are born, and some not even then. Newborn Americans are being killed if they are perceived as being "defective."

The United States Flag

The US House of Representatives voted 312 to 120 for a Constitutional amendment banning desecration of the United States flag. An amendment would overturn two Supreme Court decisions in 1989 and 1990 in favor of free speech that allowed flag desecration. Most of us are upset when "Old Glory" is mistreated. However, the national flag is a symbol of United States citizens. How can we make laws protecting symbols while the reality it represents is abused? People are more important than their symbols.

Even though the symbols of American people are protected by law, real people can be murdered! Medical science has demonstrated that unborn human beings experience pain, and most abortion techniques cause excruciating pain to the little person in the womb or birth canal. The child is tortured to death in the womb environment. The most dangerous part of our environment is not the outside world. The most dangerous environment is inside the human womb--61 million people have been murdered there since 1973!

Life begins at conception! This is a scientific fact.

Abortion is the premeditated murder of innocent, helpless human beings!

Miseducation

We have stood by and watched generations of United States children aborted and miseducated. Graduates of our government schools have been cheated. They have been indoctrinated with destructive values. They have not been disciplined and loved. They have not been taught the basics of math, English, social studies, science and word-building (spelling and vocabulary). Children do not receive character training, but rather taught immorality. History has degenerated into fiction. Literature has been censored. The Gideons cannot distribute God's Word in the schools. Promiscuity and destructive homosexual practice have been encouraged! Judeo-Christian metaphysics has been replaced by atheistic metaphysics. Consequently, immoral and unethical values have rushed to fill the void in their vulnerable young minds. We have actually paid people to abuse our children! Our most precious treasures--our children--are being corrupted. These generations are our future. (There are some exceptions.)
