The "Our Constitution Is Outdated" Myth PDF Print E-mail
Written by Dr. John E. Russell Sr

The radical socialists have circumvented our constitution through selective law enforcement and by creating "new laws" by Supreme Court decisions (See previous essays). In effect, a new constitution is being created before our eyes. There are already efforts to call a constitutional convention to legalize what already is being practiced.

The Supreme Court is also using international law and opinion in its decision making, thereby violating our Constitution. The nations of the world would be wise to adapt our Constitution!

This places our military in an awkward position. We who have served our country by joining the military took an oath to defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic. Here is a transcript of the OATH OF OFFICE (DA FORM 71--Ref. AR 135-100) that I signed 2 OCT 67:

I, John Everette Russell O2 335 295, having been appointed an officer in the Army of the United States, as indicated above in the grade of 1LT do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States against all enemies, foreign and domestic, that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; that I take this obligation freely, without any mental reservation or purpose of evasion; and that I will well and faithfully discharge the duties of the office upon which I am about to enter; so help me God [Italics and bold mine].

In my opinion, some judges and some politicians have violated our constitution and have become "domestic enemies" of the United States. It grieves me.

What are we to do? Shall we be true to our word? Or shall we ignore the erosion of freedom and hope it will reverse on its own accord? This would be naive.

The Fabian Socialists who have subverted our Constitution will not reverse themselves. They will have to be converted back to our Constitution or else be removed from power.

I cannot take part in the violent overthrow of our government and I will not advocate that others do it. It must be accomplished through education and the ballot box.
