The "AIDSpeak" Myth

AIDSpeak is the "Politically Correct" body of rationalizations generated to reduce the national fear of AIDS. Here is a short history of AIDSpeak. AIDS does not transmit:

• 1980—at all!
• 1981—through blood transfusions.
• 1983—through heterosexual sex in the US.
• 1987—through needlesticks.
• 1991—to children living in an HIV household.
• 1995—through saliva
• 1995—through mosquitoes (date may have been earlier)

All the above pronouncements by our government were proven wrong. The late homosexual Andy Shilts, who was a well-known San Francisco journalist, coined the term, "AIDSpeak." Sadly, Mr. Shilts died of AIDS.

I recommend Dr. Day's excellent book as a primary resource on AIDS. [Lorraine Day, M.D., AIDS: What the Government Isn't Telling You. (Palm Desert, CA: Rockford Press, 1991).] Many facts in this essay are from her book. She quotes from primary medical research and states it in layman terms.

Here are the Scientific Facts about HIV (human immunodeficiency virus):

1. One May Have HIV For Up To Three And One-Half Years And Not Know It, since the present type of screening may not reveal it.

2. Surgical Gloves Allow HIV To Go Through The Latex. Holes 5-10 microns have been found in these gloves. HIV is .1 micron in size. There are 25,400 microns in an inch.

3. HIV Can Penetrate "Whole" Skin. The specialized Langerhans skin cells transport the HIV through the skin. These cells are found mostly in mucous membranes, but also on "outside" skin. Normally, the CD4 receptors in these special cells attach to irritant particles and bring them to cells that start the allergic reaction. The problem is that they also attach to the HIV!

4. HIV is a Hardy Virus. It can survive for at least 14 days outside the body and for 7 days in a dry state at room temperature.

6. HIV Can Be Transmitted Through Saliva. There are at least three known cases. One test revealed that blood was present in the saliva of 90 percent of heterosexual couples after passionate kissing.

7. HIV Has Been Transmitted Through Oral Sex By Both Lesbians And Homosexuals.

8. Since HIV May Not Be Detected For Three And A Half Years, Our National Blood Supply Is Contaminated. Up to .2 percent of contaminated blood slips through the screening process. If one receives a pint of contaminated blood, one receives the gift of HIV. (Gays pushed for a blood donor drive in the Castro district of San Francisco where about 50 percent of the gay men are HIV carriers. This blood went to the general population. The Gay Lobby overruled Doctor Lorraine Day when she tried to stop the insanity). Since HIV is transmitted via blood transfusions, one should have his own blood drawn for a transfusion when facing future surgery. If one does not have his previously drawn blood for surgery, then a "cell-saver" that recycles one's own blood during surgery should be used. The third best option is to choose one's own donors from family and friends.

9. HIV Is Transmitted Through Vaginal Sex. Condoms may remove fear from some minds. However, they do not remove the fact that one will probably acquire HIV if one persists in having sex with HIV carriers, condoms or no condoms. Even if the condoms remain intact, fluids can be exchanged. HIV can go through whole latex.

10. HIV Is Transmitted Through Anal Sex. Tissue in the rectum is easily torn, facilitating the transmission of HIV. More condoms are ruptured in anal sex.

11. HIV Is Transmitted Through Contaminated Needles. Needles May Appear Clean And Still Be Contaminated. Some disinfectants previously thought to have killed HIV did not. The National Institute on Drug Abuse stated that, "Cleaning injection equipment with disinfectants, such as bleach, does not guarantee that the HIV is killed. Disinfectants do not sterilize equipment." NIDA changed its recommendation from a 1 to 10 dilution of bleach rinse for 6 seconds to a 100 percent undiluted bleach for 30 seconds. ("NIDA Community Alert Bulletin," March 25, 1993). HIV has survived 20 minutes of having a 70 percent alcohol solution poured on it.

12. HIV Has Survived Seventeen Hours In A Mosquito. There Probably Was A Transmission Of HIV By Mosquito In Florida, according to a study by Carolyn McCloud. McCloud is a Professor in the Tropical Medicine Institute, Miami Beach, Florida. Female mosquitoes (Spanish, "Little Flies") are nature's "flying hypodermic syringes." They cut a hole in the skin, insert a flexible needle, inject saliva that contains an anticoagulant (and infectious diseases), and then gorge themselves on blood. Genus culex, the common household mosquito, transmits some types of parasitic worms and encephalitis viruses. Genus aedes transmits yellow fever virus. Genus anopheles transmits four types of malaria protozoans called plasmodia.

13. Any Introduction Of Body Fluids From An HIV Infected Person Into An Uninfected Person Will Transmit HIV. This could happen in surgery, dental work, auto accidents, sports and maybe casual contact if the "right" conditions exist. There is enough blood lost in a nose bleed of an HIV-infected person to kill a medium-sized town. Semen is 90 percent white blood cells and the HIV attach to these, making women more susceptible to HIV infection. Urine can contain the HIV and excrement can have HIV blood in it.

14. HIV Can Be Transmitted By Aerosols. In one experiment, a device picked up HIV from what appeared to be "clear" air, 20 inches from the source. (HIV blood was applied to a high-speed drill such as bone surgeons use.) Particles 5 microns or smaller cannot be seen with the naked eye, and remain suspended in the air indefinitely. The HIV is only .1 micron in diameter and is easily absorbed by the lungs.

16. HIV May Be Transmitted From An Infant To An Adult Under Certain Conditions. Babies need to be loved and held. However, babies with AIDS must be handled with extreme caution. They can transmit HIV. They are also susceptible to opportunistic diseases since their resistance is low—infected adults should not be around them.

18. HIV Has Been Spread In Aids Households Through Sharing Toothbrushes. Apparently the bristles tear tissue in the mouth and introduce the virus into the body this way.

To be forewarned is to be forearmed. Recently, an article said that gay men on the west coast were having "unprotected sex" as a practice. Instead of trying to sell the homosexual lifestyle as normal and defending this type of behavior, why doesn't the homophile media begin telling the truth? The media should lobby for laws that govern the infected, not for laws that govern the uninfected. As it now stands, the homophile media is the worst enemy of gay and lesbian people.

General George S. Patton, Jr., said, "Gentlemen, when the enemy is committed to a mistake, we must not interrupt him too soon." The media is not interrupting. Therefore, the media must be an enemy of homosexuals and lesbians.

I am interrupting. I am interrupting because God has placed a concern in my heart for those who have lost hope or are bound by chains of destructive habits. Homosexuals are not the enemy—Satan is.

To those who may still think that I am a homophobe: does it make sense to tell people you "hate" or "fear" to quit killing themselves? I think not! Who hates gays—those who tell the truth or those who engage in AIDSpeak propaganda?

The average lifespan of a homosexual man is 42 years versus the average lifespan of a normal man being 75 years! The average lifespan of a lesbian woman is 45 years versus the average lifespan of a normal woman being 79! We need Truthspeak in the media, in education and in the government! Our government and the medical community have cowardly bowed to the gay lobby and published lies to alleviate fear. People who "sell their souls" do not deserve to be in leadership!

It is our greatest treasures—our children—who will suffer undeservingly. Many will die a horrible death because some people wanted to experience perverted pleasure. There is no excuse for heterosexual promiscuity, either! What a price to pay for self-indulgence! AIDS and other STD result, and innocent children suffer physically and emotionally. It is senseless and morally insane!

More people die from heart attacks and strokes than AIDS, cancer, TB and several other diseases combined. Yet, the federal government spent 10 times more on AIDS in 1992 than on coronary disease. Why? AIDSpeak! (James Dobson, PhD. Focus On The Family, July 1993, p. 7). Apparently the gay community can better afford to lobby Washington—the average homosexual has an annual income of $59,000 versus $32,000 for a normal person. The average lesbian has an annual household income of $42,755.

This is not to decry AIDS research. We need to stop this horrible disease before we experience a devastating plague. However, we do not have to sit around awaiting a cure for aids. There is something we can do now to stop the spread of aids. We must simply follow the command of the good LORD and abstain from sex outside heterosexual marriage
